    1. Think of a person who made a positive difference in your life. What qualities does that person have that you would like to develop?

·         I want to develop my attitude like hiya or shame especially when im in class. I always thinking that I have positive in my life because I know that God will guide me and I don’t want to stress myself for thinking negative to other people.

2.       Imagine 20 years from now you are sorrounded by the most important people in your life. Who are they and what are you doing?

·         The most important people in my life are:

First of all, my Almighty God saviour that he gave to me a happy and loving family, because I want to travel someday together with my family pero hindi na makakasama ang aking ama dahil kinuha na siya ng Panginoon.

·         Second, I reach my goal or dream so that I can help other people like charitable institution.

·         Third, ang aking mga friends na makita ko silang naging successful sa kanilang buhay, na may sariling business o trabaho.

3.       If a Steel beam (6 inches wide) were placed across two skyscrappers for what would you be willing to across? A thousand dollars? A million? Your pet? Your brother? Fame? Think carefully.

·         I across two skyscrappers for a thousand dollars because I want to build raw house for my family para magkakasama kami magkakapatid sa isang bahay kahit meron na silang sariling mga pamilya.

·         Second, I want to donate money in the charitable institution.

·         Third, I invest my money in the bank, because I want to put up a business like restaurant and etc.

4.       If you could spend one day in a great library studying anything you wanted. What would you study?

·         I spend one day in a great library, gusto ko bumasa ng mga books tungkol sa ibat ibang codes o technics sa paggawa ng program, mag-research ng kahit anong idea para sa pagsisimula ng negosyo na makakatulong sa ibang tao, lalong lalo na sa aking pamilya.

5.       List 10 things you love to do. It could be singing, dancing, looking at magazines, drawing, reading, daydreaming – anything you absolutely love to do.

·         I love to collect Winnie the pooh like stationary and drawing.

6.       Describe a time when you were deeply inspired?

·         I deeply inspired when I wake up in the morning because I have a new day and new life, that’s why I thank GOD always, especially when im going to school and going to mall.

7.       Five years from now your local paper does a story about you and they want to interview three people, a parent, a brother or sister and a friend. What would you want them to say about you?

·         A parent gusto ko sabihin nila that’s good nakamtan mo rin ang iyong goal at dream na makapagaral ng 4years course and palagi kami handang gumabay sa iyo dahil anak ka namin.  A brother or sister andito lang kami sa tabi mo at laging nakaalalay sa iyo. A friend, finally nakamtan mo rin ang iyong goal at dream sa buhay mo.

8.       Thing of something that represents you – a rose, a song, an animal – Why does it represent you?

·         A song, kasi ibat-ibang damdamin ko, minsan masaya, malungkot, galit at iba pa pero nakakagaan at nagbibigay inspirasyon sa iba.

9.       If you could spend on hour with any person who ever lived, who would that be? Why that person? What would you ask?

·         I spend on hour to my father Nick D. Banlaygas Sr. because I love him so much and I miss him so much. Gusto ko makita niya ako na naipagpatuloy ko ang aking pag-aaral na matagal na niyang pangarap sa akin at kung nasaan man siya naroon ngayon ay gabayan pa rin niya ako hanggang sa maabot ko ang aking dream.

      Justify why should you be part of your community?

Being citizen in my community, I want to join projects for my community, like community service, medical mission, feeding program, proper segregation of garbage (biodegradable and non-biodegradable), and other activities in my community, especially to help to improve my community.

                            What are the 10 things that I need to do to enhance my community?

      Here is a list of 10 things that I need to do enhance my community

1. Organize Feeding program, Breastfeeding and Medical Mission- they need to help other people para maging malusog ang isang bata at maiwasan o malimitahan ang pagkakaroon ng sakit katulad sa mga bata at matatanda. .
2. Organized Segregation Project – they will inform and know what is recyclable in my community.  Recycle all the materials accepted in your local recycling program.  Many communities recycle materials such as paper, magazines, newspaper, aluminum, glass, batteries, steel cans, and plastic bottles.
3. Clean up your community - Organize a group of family and friends and set aside one day a week or month to get together and pick up the litter and trash on the canals in my community. It doesn't have to be just your street that you clean up either. Take turns cleaning each other's streets or pick a different street each time. Just be sure to take proper safety precautions.
4. Give back to your community by volunteering – they need to help other people like organizing a bake sale or fundraiser for someone that may be sick or needy in your community, volunteering at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen, or helping or visiting an elderly person who otherwise may not have any family to do so.
5. Organize a neighborhood watch in your community with your family, friends and neighbors - This will make the community safer for you and your neighbors, and give you a good opportunity to get to know your neighbors better.
6. Be active in your community by taking part in local activities such as church events, charities, town hall meetings, or community voting, especially voices your opinion.
7. Plan social activities in your community such as ball games, barbecues, candle making, meat making or other annual events. This can be a great way to get people in the community involved by coming out and getting to know each other.
8. Set good examples - A great way to improve your community is not by concentrating on the faults of your neighbors but by setting a good example of behavior yourself. Being friendly and outgoing to your neighbor.
9. Volunteer at a local school, senior center, hospital or animal shelter – they need to be help other neighbor or other people in my community like give clothes, medicine or food.

10. Get involved in town/city government – they need to help my community by a network of volunteer commissions and boards especially election. These are often very important elements of community living that don’t always get the time and attention they need.

Ang aking role sa aking community ay makipagtulungan sa aking kapwa at makibahagi kung anuman ang kaya kong ibahagi na mga bagay katulad ng community service. Mag-suggest ng proyekto na makakatulong sa aming community katulad ng “tapat ko linis ko project” para sa enviroment, pagpapatali ng mga aso para maiwasan ang pagdudumi sa kalsada, pag volunteer sa mga medical mission at feeding program, para malimitahan ang mga mlnourished na mga bata sa aming community. Dapat bigyan halaga ang sariling community dahil dito ako lumaki, nagkaroon nga mga kaibigan at higit sa lahat natutong makipagsalimuha sa mga tao. COMMUNITY

Ang aming community ay isang simpleng komunidad, na hindi maaalis sa Kaugaliang Pilipino ang pakikipag-salimuha, pakikipagkapwa tao katulad ng pagbabahagi ng mga lutong pagkain kapag may kaarawan o kaya araw ng fiesta, ngunit ito ay nahahati sa dalawang purok na tinawag ng Purok 6 Upper at Purok 6 Lower na may mga eskenita. Ito ay boundary ng Barangay Nicolas Virata GMA Cavite at Barangay Magsaysay, San Pedro, Laguna, kung kaya’t ang mga taong naninirahan dito ay galing sa ibat ibang lugar katulad ng manila at probinsiya. Karamihan sa mga tao dito ay nagwowork sa ibang bansa at mga factory katulad ng Techno Park, nakikipagsalimuha rin sila sa mga palaro, competition at ibat ibang mga activities katulad ng fiesta at paligsahan sa ibang lugar.

Binubuo ang aming community ng dalawang Daycare Center, ang isa ay sa Purok 6 Upper samantalang ang isang Daycare Center ay malapit sa kadiwa na may Basketball Court. Marami sa aking mga kapitbahay ang sumasali sa paligsahan katulad ng sayaw, kanta at laro tuwing may fiesta at higit sa lahat sa ibang lugar.

Filipino Values

Filipino Values Importance of

Base sa aking pagsusuri ang Kaugaliang Pilipino ay dapat pahalagahan at ingatan dahil ito ay minana natin sa ating mga ninuno na mapanghanggang sa ngayon ay ginagamit natin sa pakikipag-ugnayan at komunikasyon sa mga kaibigan, sa ibang tao at higit sa lahat sa ating tahanan. Ito ang ilan sa mga katangian ng mga Kaugaliang Pilipino na makapag-aangat ng antas ng kultura sa Pilipinas katulad ng pagtitiwala sa maykapal, maasikaso, may utang na loob, magalang at makapamilya. Kabilang ang mga ito sa mga litaw na Kaugaliang Pilipino na madaling mapansin ng mga banyaga. Mahalaga ang mga kaugaliang ito sapagkat mas matanda pa sa panahon ng pananakop ang pag-iral ng ganitong mga katangian.  Ang Kaugaliang Pilipino ay nahahati sa dalawang pagkatao katulad ng kalakasan at kahinaan ng isang tao.

The Strength and Weakness of Filipino Values: Categories.

1.       Strength of Filipino Values

·         Pakikipagkapwa-tao – people who really value the meaning of relationship are open to others, feel one with others and sensitive to other’s feeling.

·         Family Oriented (Pagpapahalaga sa Pamilya) – are known for a close family relationship. “Blood is thicker than water”.

·         Joy and Humor (Kagalakan at Pagpapatawa) – Filipinos have a pleasant disposition, can afford to laugh at their own mistakes and make jokes about their good and bad fortune.

·         Flexibility, Adaptibility and Creativity (Pakikibagay, Madaling Sumunod, at pagiging malikhain) – Filipinos have a great capacity to adjust and adapt to different circumstances and environment, both physical and social. They are also imaginative and creative.

·         Hardwork and Industry (Puspusang pagtatrabaho at Kasipagan) – have the capacity for hard work given the proper conditions.

·         Faith and religiosity (Pananampalataya at pagiging Maka-Diyos) –  have a deep faith and respect in God.

·         Ability to survive – manifested in Filipinos capacity for endurance despite difficulties and their ability to get by on so very little.

2.       Weaknesses of Filipino Values

·         Extreme Personalism (Sobrang pamemersonal) - the world in terms of personal relationships and the extent to which one is able personally to relate to things and people determines our recognition of their existence and value. Filipinos are sensitive and take things personally, which is a strength but at the same time can also create problems and be a weakness.

·         Extreme Family centeredness - While concern for the family is one of the Filipino's greatest strengths, in the extreme it becomes a serious flaw, in other circumstances, which can lead to selfishness and national division.

·         Lack of Discipline – The Filipino is carefree and prone to being lazy, which renders him insensitive to the need for discipline especially in his relationship with his surroundings.

·         Passivity and Lack of initiative - are generally passive and lacking in initiative, which is also a result of the Filipinos inclination to be lazy.

·         Colonial mentality - is made up of two dimensions: the first is a lack of patriotism or an active awareness, appreciation, and love of the Philippines; the second is an actual preference for things foreign.

·         Kanya-kanya Syndrome - have a selfish, self-serving attitude that generates a feeling of envy and competitiveness towards others, which can also be a result of extreme family centredness.

1.       PAGTITIWALA SA MAYKAPAL

Definition

Pagtitiwala sa Maykapal, for me, is strong faith and confidence in God so that in all situations I am not afraid because I know god will be there for me.

Experience

Pagtitiwala sa Maykapal ang dahilan kung bakit kahit na anong problema dumating sa buhay ko lalong lalo na sa buong pamilya ko andun pa rin iyong faith ko sa Panginoon dahil siya ang dakilang lumikha sa atin. For every trial, there is a solution.

2.       PAGGALANG

Definition

Paggalang, for me, is a very important way of being kind and good to other people, especially your family and friends. You show respect when you are say “please” and “thank you”.

Experience

Paggalang ang dahilan kung bakit dapat galangin ang isang nakakatanda sa atin lalong lalo na ang ating mga magulang na nag-aruga sa ating paglaki, kaya kailangan mong magsabi ng “po” at “opo” kahit sa ibang tao na nakakatanda sa akin.

3.       HIYA

Definition

Hiya, for me, is a kind of social behavior, emotion or shame arising from a realization of having failed and  I need to careful what I say and do, because I don’t like to be embarrassed  or mapahiya.

Experience

Hiya ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan magkaroon ng self confidence ang isang tao, katulad ng halimbawa noong ako ay biglang naging takapagsalita para sa aking boss sa isang meeting dahil they had another meeting, I felt embarrassed and ashamed because I was not prepared for that as I expected na darating ang aking boss.

4.       PAKIKIPAGKAPWA TAO

Definition

Pakikipagkapwa-tao – for me, is a need to understand that we belong to a social group, and that we need to have a respect and acceptance of other people regardless of race, religion, political inclination, belief, etc. because we are all equal in the eyes of God.

Experience

Pakikipagkapwa tao ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan mong maging totoo sa mga tao. Noong ako ay nagtatrabaho pa meron akong binibigyan na mga grocery bag gifts na mga kasamahan ko kasi bihira sila magcelebrate ng noche buena magpapamilya. Kailangan mo mag share sa ibang tao kung anong biyaya at pagpapala  ang dumating sa buhay mo.

                       

5.       UTANG NA LOOB

Definition

Utang na loob – for me, is a kind of value which make you be thankful and grateful for what other people did for you and returning the favor.

Experience

Utang na loob ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan mong tumanaw ng utang na loob kagaya ng kabutihan sa kapwa, halimbawa ng pagbabahagi ng anumang bagay kung sakaling ikaw ay ginawan ng pabor kagaya ng food sharing and public service.

6.       PAKIKISAMA (Being people-oriented) 

Definition

Pakikisama, for me, is one of the very important Filipino Values, because as the Golden Rule says, do unto others what you want others to do unto you.

Experience

Pakikisama ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan mong makisama sa isang kaibigan o kahit ibang tao dahil sa ito ay nakaugalian nating mga Pilipino, halimbawa noong ako ay nagwowork pa kailangan mo makisama sa mga co-workers mo, lalong lalo na sa mga pumupunta sa aking opisina hindi mo kailangan bastusin ang isang tao lalo na kapag hindi mo siya gaanong kilala.

7.       BAYANIHAN (Communal Effort and Cooperation, Community Spirit) 

Definition

Bayanihan, for me, is a very beautiful expression of the totality of Filipino values, exhibiting the Filipino’s concern for others, his lively spirit, his understanding that a community should be together especially in achieving a particular objective, and that in unity there is strength.

Experience

Bayanihan ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan magkaroon ng bayanihan sa pulitika, kasi doon ko nakita iyong pagtutulungan ng mga tao lalo na sa oras ng kagipitan. Halimbawa noong Bagyong Ondoy namigay kami ng mga sack of goods sa ibat ibang barangay na mga nasalanta ng bagyo, doon ko naranasan sumulong sa baha, para iabot sa mga tao ang mga pack.

                               

8.       WORD OF HONOR (May isang salita)

Definition

 Word of Honor is related to credibility and is a very important part of one’s life. Kung may sasabihin ka kailangan panindigan mo at tuparin mo ang iyong mga commitments at pangako. Kung hindi, wala ng maniniwala sa iyo at bagsak ang credibility mo, at mawawalan ng halaga ang mga salita mo.

Experience

 Word of Honor ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan mo magkaroon ng isang salita, dahil kapag pinangakuhan mo ang isang tao ay dapat tuparin mo, kaya never na mangangako ako sa isang tao dahil ayaw ko masabihan ng walang kuwentang tao o walang palabra de honor.

Definition

Hospitality is a generous treatment of guests or strangers, by entertaining them, being a tour guide for them, and providing them food, shelter and other needs.

Experience

Hospitality ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan ko maging pasensyusa o mapagpasensiya sa mga taong pumupunta sa opisina, dahil hindi lang naman foreigner ang kailangan gawan ng pagiging mapagbigay sa kapwa kundi pati na rin kapwa nating Pilipino.

10.    POLITENESS

Definition

Politeness – is a polite nature or behavior and showing good manners to other people in the Filipino Values of Filipino Culture.

Experience

Politeness ang dahilan kung bakit kailangan mo maging magalang, masunurin at maka Diyos dahil pantay pantay tayong nilikha ng Panginoon, walang mayaman at mahirap. Kung itinuturing mo na mahal ka ng Diyos, ituring mo rin na mahal ng Diyos ang kapwa mo kaya ingatan mo at pangahalagahan ang iyong kapwa. Hindi mo kailangan humusga ng isang pagkatao, lalong lalo na kapag hindi mo siya kilala.
